Pittsburgh, PA – Allegheny County Police have a message for travelers hitting the skies: Don’t leave your pets behind.
Police were called to Pittsburgh International Airport early Friday morning after a dog was found alone in a stroller on airport property.
Police said airline officials told the dog’s owner that the dog would need to be placed in a crate to get onto the plane. Investigators say the dog’s owner instead abandoned the dog near short-term parking and then boarded her flight. Police said it is their understanding that this was not an emergency travel plan.
