SCARBOROUGH, ME — This time last year, WMTW introduced a six-month-old Newfoundland puppy named Beacon.
At the time, Beacon was just getting her paws wet and learning how to become a lifeguard at Scarborough Beach State Park.
Though she’s constantly undergoing training, Beacon is now considered a full-fledged member of the beach’s rescue team. She is one of the very few dogs in the country with that skill.
