HARTFORD, S.D. – There’s heartache in Hartford tonight, where a six-week-old baby boy has died after being bitten by his family’s pet dog.
Sheriff’s investigators are working on determining what caused the Belgian Malinois attacked the baby Thursday afternoon at a home.
Sioux Falls Animal Control is not part of the investigation. But officers say dog bites involving small children are not uncommon. It sees an increase in dog bite calls during holidays.
