Hero the dog makes history as first rescue service animal for the VA Hospital

For the first time, the VA Hospital in West Palm Beach is using a rescue dog from Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic & Ranch as a resident service animal.

Hero the dog helps train veterans on how to work with service dogs of their own. He also provides emotional support to patients getting hard news or preparing for surgery.

A special program with a local animal adoption center is helping military veterans with trauma symptoms related to their service.
