FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Police Department says K9 Officer Argo is expected to make a full recovery after he was stabbed several times during a domestic violence call.
The incident occurred on April 10, 2021 as police attempted to detain Carlos Castanos after receiving a call that a woman was being held against her will.
As Argo tried to subdue Castanos, police say Carlos pulled out a large box cutter and stabbed the K9 at least six times in the back and left eye. Argo saved the life of an officer in the process.
