Cambridge, MA – A four-legged eight-year member of Cambridge Police Department has completed his last shift this week with a retirement send-off from officers.
K9 Rumba, a Labrador retriever and one of five K9s a part of department’s bomb squad, is the first dog to retire — largely due to health conditions — according to Jeremy Warnick, director of communications and media relations for Cambridge Police.
Over the past 8 years, K9 Rumba responded to over 400 incident calls and more than 150 dignitary sweeps. We are thankful for his dedicated service to the City and wish him nothing but the best in his retirement. https://t.co/WToLiMw61I pic.twitter.com/QvNOkrnp7U
