HONOLULU, HI – It’s extremely rare, but some animals have caught COVID-19.
An Oahu woman had COVID-19 in the spring of 2020, but in March of 2021, her healthy 11-year-old terrier Maltese mix got sick. The dog had blisters on his lungs called Bullous.
One local vet said it can’t be ruled out if the woman passed on COVID-19 to her dog. Recommend that keeping a distance from pets when feeling ill.
